PROCUREMENT NOTICE.
1. The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has received funds from the UK Department of Foreign and International Development (DFID) to be used for the acquisition of Consultancy Services to design the National Statistical Data Bank (NSDB).
2. The Uganda Bureau of Statistics now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the provision of Consultancy Services to design the National Statistical Data Bank (NSDB). The NSDB will be a web-based repository of statistical data and information providing a one stop national centre for Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to access official statistics in a coordinated and timely manner as well as promote greater coherence between different sets of statistical data (EMIS, HMIS, etc.).
3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Open Domestic Bidding procedures contained in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003, and is open to all bidders.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below in No. 8(a) between 8.00am -5.00pm on working days.
5. The Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address given below in No. 8(b) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX100,000 (Uganda Shillings One Hundred Thousand Only). The method of payment will be by use of a Bank Payment Advice Form to be obtained from the Procurement and Disposal Unit office at Statistics House, Plot 9 Colville Street, Ground Floor, Room G.4, during working hours.
6. There shall be a Pre-Bid Meeting at the address given below in No. 8(d) at 11:00 am on the dates indicated in the proposed schedule in this notice.
7. Bids must be delivered to the address given below in No. 8 (c) at or before 11.00am 13th April 2012. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address given below in No.8 (d) at 11.30 am on 13th April 2012.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of UGX 2, 500,000. The bid security should be in the format provided in the Bid document or a bank draft.
